The comic opens with Shao Kahn's soldiers smashing through an Outworld training camp. In a desert market town, Jade warns Kitana not to touch the war hammer left in the dust, calling it cursed. Kitana lifts it anyway, and a thunderclap sends green energy racing through her. She shows Jade her new muscles, Jade admires her abs, and the energy keeps building until her outfit crackles and rips in a power surge. At full strength Kitana declares that Outworld is hers, and the 25 pages close on her standing over the market, hammer in hand, beneath a lightning-filled sky.
